Do Now: Watch a 22mins film on the history of Native Americans.
Students will take notes while watching the documentary on Native Americans.

What is an oral tradition in your family or amongst your friends?
- There is no oral traditions in my family or friends.

Do Now: What is a myth? - A traditional typically ancient story dealing with supernatural beings, ancestors, or heroes that serves as a fundamental type in the world view of a people as by exploring aspect of a people.
Do you know of any?
-Adam and Eve, devils, demons, dwarfs, elves, giants, genies, heaven, hydra, El Dorado, Santa Claus, underworld, unicorn, vampires, werewolves, witches and wizards.
What is a Folklore?
-The traditional beliefs, myths, and practices of a people transmitted orally. Can you recall a Folklore?

What do you think is creation mythology?
-Explains how the universe earth, and life begins.

Do Now: Compare your folktale to the documentary we saw last week on Native Americans: How is your folktale representative of Native Americans?-The Folktale I chose represents Native Americans because the story was about a Cree warrior that lost his wife while he was traveling back home. This story was told though the generations near the Qu' Appelle River.
Does it represent a specific Native American tribe?

-Cree Tribe
What is mythological about your folktale?

-The Cree warrior can hear his believed calling his name as he goes down the river and the wind touching him like she does. On the Qu Appelle river you can still hear the warrior saying who calls and Qu' Appelle.
What literary terms did you identify in your folktale?
Repetition of "Who calls" and "Qu' Appelle".
Personification the wind touch like a human will.
Simile the wind rose softly and swirled through his hair, across his cheek... as gentle as a touch.

Do Now: How can you connect man and nature from your researched folklores?
-Nature helped the warrior to realized that something happened to his wife. Nature can help man to surive in nature.
Recall: from your Global studies class what is imperialism.
-Imperialism is when one powerful country takes control of a weaker Country. Now recall the documentary we viewed last week together with your notes and identify any system of imperialism as it pertains to Native Americans.
- When the Spanish came to America and made the Native Americans move to the west. The Native Americans were sent to camps to convert them to the American ways.
Silent reading from Excerpt from Trafzar’s “Cheyenne’s Revenge” and make annotations in your books. Identify characters, point of view, conflicts, setting, and historical references.
Characters- Lone Wolf, Cheirf Black Kettle, Tall Bear and Blue Coats. Point of view-3 rd Person
Conflicts- Women and child were kiled, Native Americans were being killed. The Conflicts were external because the Native Americans were being killed.
Setting- Sand Creek in Colardo Territory.
